Birmingham's historic Thomas Jefferson Hotel once served as a symbol of the city's prominence. Today, after decades of neglect, the icon's very existence is threatened. With your help, we can halt the decline and begin restoring greatness.

Our Mission: Preserve and Restore

We will:

  • Partner with the community to acquire the building.
  • Stop the deterioration by sealing the building from the elements and securing it from further vandalism.
  • Work with developers to restore the historic hotel and create exciting new culinary and retail destinations.

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, our mission is to purchase the building, restore it to operating conditions, and lease the building to operating partners and independent companies. The impact of the non-profit will be much larger than one building, the funds from the leases will be used to provide grants for future restoration in Birmingham. Our long-term plan accounts for over 15 separate buildings, including helping restore Birmingham’s historic Lyric Theater.
